The “I’m not a feminist but” phrase debacle was brought to my attention back in the day by a male college professor when I’d uttered a similar phrase. And then he asked me, plainly and simply, what was wrong with being a feminist. “Well nothing” I replied, “the problem is being identified as one”. Well I am a feminist and for those of you who can stay switched on after that phrase, check out what Ellie Levenson’s had to say here — my feminism is realism.
